New projects in a busy week
Al has been busy with some new projects this last couple of weeks. He is building a dresser for a client in Jackson Hole. The front is carved with aspen trees, and the back is carved with the Tetons. These pictures are of the carved aspens. This is the bare wood without the stain. Once the color is on, the trees will really pop out.
This is one side of the whole dresser. It’s 60 inches tall with several drawers.
Al has also been brainstorming on some new ideas too. Different shapes and designs. He has been wanting to create some pieces that incorporate his bronze work and wood work together. Something functional and fun. We have talked in the past about small table top treasure boxes. A place to put your special finds and treasures.
And then the idea for a small wine cabinet came about.
There are so many interesting variations on this basic idea. He has been sketching and, mocking up several different designs. This one is a simple maple wood box with two small drawers the clay raven is just one he has had in the studio. The concept of these new pieces is to have a modern look with some nice colorful stains, paints, different textures and to blend these with woods and bronze. This is going to be fun to see what is to come.
