We are taking these 4 new pieces to the Turpin Gallery in Jackson hole today. We are very happy with the way the collaboration pieces turned out. The bead work panels on the two pedestals, really set them apart. This first piece is 34″ tall and we made it for the sculpture “Listen”.

Al has been busy at the shop getting some new projects going. Two pieces are close to being done. The first one, is going to be a pedestal for the sculpture “Listen”. The Turpin Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is carrying all of Al’s sculptures. We wanted to make some pedestal pieces that would show off the sculptures, and compliment them. Something different from the usual items you see in a gallery. I did the bead work on the panel that will fit on the front of this particular piece.
Al competed in the first Western Art Rodeo on April 29th and 30th. The event was held at the Sundance resort in Utah. The Western Art Rodeo Association is a brand new idea in the art world. Here is an excerpt from their website.
There’s a new game in town for Artists – Sculptors – Painters – Photographers and Art Enthusiasts!Introducing the Western Art Rodeo Association. No, it’s nothing to do with bucking horses or bulls.
It’s a brand new opportunity for artists to make more money, gain exposure, get sponsors, earn name recognition, get in front of collectors – without selling any of their art!
Of course, once you see how it works – they will sell their art too! (making even more money)
The WARA will put an end to the STARVING ARTIST.
Quality Artwork will rise to the top based on quality and not advertising dollars.
If you’re an artists, sculptor, photographer, painter, collector, or just an art enthusiasts – you owe it to yourself to check out the world’s first ART SPORT – WARA.

The Hones Design Studio website is receiving a much needed face lift. I will be blogging regularly on all the latest news and events that all the Hones are involved in. Al and Kade are working on some new ideas. They are headed back to the Western Design Conference this September. So they need something awesome for that show. Along with participating at the WDC, Al will be at the Turpin Gallery on Main St. in Jackson Hole, sculpting on site. The Turpin Gallery currently carries Al’s sculptures and some of the functional art pieces. The gallery also has some bead work that Mary has done. The war shirt is going there in a couple of weeks. Al and Mary are working together on a very unique art pedestal to take to the gallery. It will be a combination of bead work, and wood. Lots going on, so be sure to sign up to receive all the latest news. This is the most recent project. Al worked closely with this client, to create this beautiful, functional art piece. The carving on the doors tells the story of the old west. With an Indian village and mountain men, plus the sculptural pieces on the top. [nggallery id=17]
