Some new wood sculptures

Al has finished up the three pieces he has been working on. I showed some pictures in the last post of what he was working on, and now they are done. 
These first two pieces are carved from solid walnut. The walnut is so beautiful. The grain, and the colors in the wood are fabulous. The finish really brings that out. This first one has 3 finches sitting on a branch, with the piece shaped like a vase.

This piece is carved from solid walnut too. There is a morning dove sitting on the top of this more contemporary style.

 Of the three newest pieces, this one is my favorite. I love dragonflies. I named this one dragonflies at sunset.

  2. I think the sculptures are fabulous and I think the dragonfly one is very cool! The wood sculptures have great patina and grace. The birds perched and carved softly on the wood give it a graceful feel. It gets an A plus
